Parents will sign children in and out electronically under the Bright wheel application. LPA advised facility there should be a plan in place on how such records will be immediately printable upon request for inspection and audit by program staff. For best practice purposes, facilities should have a plan in place on how records would be backed up, and how they would be made available in the event of a power failure or disaster. LPA reference director to review PIN 18-03.1-CCP.
The facility has filtered water fixtures where staff can fill children personal water bottles for outdoor and indoor activities. There are operable carbon monoxide detector located on the first and second floor of the facility. LPA observed fire extinguishers with inspection dates of 12/05/2024. LPA observed First Aid Kits with the required materials including a handheld digital thermometer.
Furniture and equipment were observed to be maintained in good condition free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Tables and chairs were observed to meet the needs of the children. There are mats for napping maintained in a safe condition. LPA confirmed that mats or colored so that the sleeping side can be distinguished from the floor side. There is a sufficient quantity and variety of age- appropriate play equipment in good condition. There are cubbies for storage of children clothing and personal belongings. The classrooms located in main area have central air for heating and cooling. The detached rooms have individual units for heating and cooling. Classrooms were clean in good repair with adequate lighting. Windows were in good repair free of chipping paint, dirt, insects, or debris. LPA observed trash cans with fitted lids. The facility is equipped with landline telephones service. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other items that are dangerous to children are stored in cabinets and closets in classrooms and restrooms. LPA advised facility representative to place safety latches or to place items in an area that is inaccessible to children.
All toilets, handwashing and bathing facilities are maintained in safe and sanitary operating condition. Hot water temperature controls are maintained within regulation.
The required postings are posted in an area for parents and visitors to review. Facility does not have a disaster and mass casualty plan of action. The plan shall be in writing and shall be readily available with contingency plans for action during fires, floods and earthquakes
