25 | On September 12, 2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susana Martinez conducted an unannounced Case Management- Licensee Initiated inspection. LPA met with director Tressa Mendoza and advised her for the purpose of the inspection. Together with the owner, LPA toured the facility inside and outside. At the time of inspection there were 14 infants in the care of 5 adults. No bodies of water were observed during the inspection.
The center wishes to change infant rooms. The center plans on using rooms labeled 3A and 3B for infants only. The rooms were observed to have age appropriate toys and play structures. No toxins or hazardous items were observed by the LPA.
A fire clearance was granted by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fire department notes 3rd floor shall not be used for childcare.
The center added a new outdoor play yard. The outdoor play yard has sufficient shade and has age-appropriate toys and play structures. With the newly added outdoor play space, the center can accommodate 10 children at a time.
Room 3A has the capacity of accommodating 8 infants at a time and Room 3B has the capacity of accommodating up to 7 infants at a time. In order for the center to go up to the full capacity of 15 infants, the center must submit an updated waiver request for CCR, Title 22, Section 101238.2(a) requesting a staggered outdoor schedule. Once the waiver is approved, the center may be able to accommodate for 15 infants. Until then the center meets Title 22 Division 12 requirements for a maximum capacity of 10 infants. License will be effective today, 09/12/2023 for total capacity of 10 infants.
Notice of site visit was provided to Owner/Director as required by H&S Code Section 1596.817. The Notice of Site Visit must remain posted for 30 days or a civil penalty of $100.00 may apply.
