The outdoor activity space total measurements contain a total of 8,932.19 which will accommodate Applicant’s request for 80 children.
Indoor/Children’s Area:
The following was observed.
Parents sign in and out manually and electronically under the Child Plus application. Providers are to ensure that such records are immediately printable upon request for inspection and audit by program staff. For best practice purposes, LPA advised facility there should be a plan in place on how the records would be backed up, and how they would be made available in the event of a power failure or disaster. LPA reference director to review PIN 18-03.1-CCP.
Staff restrooms are located in the front office, rooms 1, 3, 5, and 6. Each classroom has filtered water dispensers for outdoor and indoor activities, operable carbon monoxide detectors, central air, and first aid kits with the required materials (hand held digital thermometers are located in the front office).
The classrooms were clean in good repair. Furniture and equipment were observed to be maintained in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Tables and chairs were observed to meet the needs of the children. There are cots for napping. Windows were in good repair free of chipping paint, dirt, insects or debris. Classrooms have adequate lighting. All play equipment and materials used by children were observed to be age-appropriate. There are cubbies in all classrooms for storage of children clothing and personal belongings. The trash cans located in the bathroom did not have tight fitting lids. The facility is equipped with landline telephones service located in the office. There is cameras to monitor the entrance and rear of the facility. Medication is stored in backpacks with locks that require a key. Medication that requires refrigeration is stored in an area that is inaccessible to children. Ill children will use the front office and staff restroom for isolation The isolation area shall be equipped with a mat, cot, couch or bed.
LPA observed fire extinguishers with an inspection date of 08/02/2024. The required postings are posted were parents and visitors to review. Each licensee shall have a disaster and mass casualty plan of action. |
