32 | LPA Tamayo also interviewed Children #2, #4, and #6. All children stated they had not witnessed anything happening to Child #1 that could have caused injuries. They also reported that they like their teachers.
Allegation #2: Staff did not meet the child’s toileting needs. Interviews with Children #2, #3, and #6 indicated that when they need to use the bathroom, they inform their teachers, who then take them. The children also reported that if they have an accident, staff change their clothes right away. Parents #2, #7, #9, #10, #11, #12, #13 disclosed they have no concerns regarding how the center addresses their children’s toileting needs. They confirmed the center’s policy requiring parents to provide extra clothing in case of accidents. Staff interviews corroborated this statement and confirmed that parents are notified of toileting accidents through the center’s app (Sprout About) and by telephone.
Allegation #3: Staff did not report injuries to authorized representative. Interviews revealed that staff were not aware of any injuries to Child #1, except for a red mark observed during nap time, which may have been caused by the child’s position on the sleeping mat. Parents interviewed also reported no concerns regarding the facility.
Based on interviews conducted and information obtained during the complaint investigation, there is not enough evidence to support the above allegations; therefore, the allegations are rendered unsubstantiated at this time.
A finding that the complaint is Unsubstantiated means that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged allegation occurred.
An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report and a notice of site visit report was provided to the facility.
