13 | On November 30, 2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Monique Ayala conducted an unannounced complaint investigation. A COVID-19 risk assessment was conducted prior to entering the facility. LPA was greeted by office manager Mr. Ochoa who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Principal, Emily Hooks arrived shortly after. LPA observed 48 preschool children in care with 12 staff members.
Staff not providing adequate supervision to children in care: Complainant alleged, on 11/03/2022 lead teacher Staff #1 (S1) left the room for a break, leaving Staff #2 (S2) and Staff #3 (S3) who are aides alone in the classroom with children.
During the investigation LPA interviewed S2 who stated that S1 looked for coverage of a fully qualified teacher but was unable to find any at the moment. S1 stepped out to tend to a personal need leaving S2 and S3 alone with children for less than 1 minute when another fully qualified teacher Staff #4 (S4) arrived |
