25 | On 04/08/2024 at 10:00 a.m., a virtual Informal office meeting was held via Teams. In attendance from the El Segundo North Regional Office were Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Emiko Bell, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Silva Garibyan and Jeanine Lipsey. Representing ONEgeneration were Director of Infant and Preschool Programs Adena Amalizan and President and CEO of ONEgeneration, Jenna Hauss.
The purpose of this office meeting was to review the details of the incident which occurred on 12/19/23, when the staff handled a daycare child in a rough manner.
LPM Bell reviewed the incident and discussed the steps that led up to the director finding out about the incident. The director states they found out about the incident from a parent, who was informed by a therapist.
Though the staff member involved was terminated, the director also met individually with the other four staff members who were present during the incident. They were reminded of the Center’s protocols and Zero Tolerance Policy, each were given a copy of the Parent Handbook, and each were made to retake Mandated Reporter training. Each of the four was also written up for not speaking up.
During the January monthly staff meeting, the director also stated that she talked about child abuse and neglect, Personal Rights and Mandated Reporting as well as “Redirecting Behavior: How to deal with Challenging Behavior.”
LPM Bell provided Director Amalian with a Technical Support Program (TSP) brochure and informed licensee of their role.
Neither President nor Director had any questions. Exit interview conducted and a copy of the report was provided to Director Adena Amalian. |
