On 12/12/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lisa Clayton arrived at the Child Care Center unannounced to conduct a Case Management – Licensee initiated inspection. LPA Clayton was greeted by acting Director Negin (Nikki) Zomorodi. LPA Clayton observed 41 children in care being supervised by 7 fingerprint cleared staff.

LPA Clayton toured the CCC inside and outside for a Health and Safety inspection.

LPA Clayton received the tentative plan for remodeling of the 3 school play yards as follows:

Leadership and UCLA housing has been planning an upgrade to the three yards at our center. As the start date approaches, we will finalize and share a more precise schedule to minimize disruptions and ensure the children continue to enjoy outdoor activities. This project will involve replacing the current pour-and-play surfaces and structures.

Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2025 and is expected to be completed by May of 2025.

The work will be carried out in phases, starting with the Infant yard. As each yard in being remodeled, the children are scheduled to play as follows (pending the approval of the waiver):

· The infants will use the basketball court until the remodel on their play yard is complete

· The two-year-old, Sea Otter classroom will use the Seal's yard, with staggered outdoor times to ensure smooth transitions.

· The two preschool classrooms, Sharks and Dolphins, will use the basketball court adjacent to the Infant/toddler yard.

· Additionally, classrooms will have the option to organize walking field trips to nearby housing playgrounds, which is on the same grounds as the program.
