32 | All toilets and handwashing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Water temperature, toilet paper, paper towels, safety and sanitation were inspected floors in the facility are clean and safe.
All kitchen, food preparation and storage areas are clean, free of litter/rubbish and free of rodents/vermin. All food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is discarded immediately. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Facility provides snacks and meals. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Children bring in their own water bottle home. LPAs observed monthly menu posted.
Areas around high climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. LPAs discussed the importance of maintaining cushioning material around metal poles in the outdoor yard.
The facility is free of flies, insects and rodents. Each rooms has a fully charged 3A:40B:C Fire Extinguisher. LPA Laureano observed a working carbon monoxide detector in facility. LPAs reviewed the Disaster, earthquake and fire drill log. Earthquake drill log was completed on 10/4/2024.
LPAs reviewed 6 children files and observed the files to include, current contact information of parents and authorized representatives, and authorization for medical treatment, signed Parent’s Rights and signed Personal Rights receipts. Based on file review, 2 of 6 children files does not include proof of immunization, which poses a potential health safety risk to children in care. Type B deficiency cited see LIC 809D. Corrections were completed by the end of today's inspection.
LPAs observed CPR/First Aid as required for opening and closing staff. LPAs reminded licensee CPR/First Aid courses should be ESMA approved training. LPA Lovest reviewed 3 employee files. Based on file review, 1 of 3 staff files does not include proof of immunization, which poses a potential health safety risk to children in care. Type B deficiency cited see LIC 809D.
LPAs reminded Director that Mandated Reporter training, Child Care provider course is required, and certificates are to be renewed every 2 years following the date on which the initial or last training certificate was received.
LPAs reviewed records and all adults present during todays visit were Criminal Record cleared.
