Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Roberto Luque Avila conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility on 10/4/2024. LPA arrived at the facility at 9:00AM, identified self and met with Shaunte Taylor, Licensee who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. LPA provided Licensee with a copy of the LIC 126 Entrance Checklist to help facilitate the inspection. LPA observed 2 children 1 staff (Licensee) upon arrival. Per Licensee, operation hours are 7:45AM to 5PM. There are 8 children that are currently enrolled.
The licensee is observed to be operating within the license capacity limitations.
Earthquake Preparedness, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License were observed to be posted.
This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, detached garage in the backyard, front yard and fenced backyard. The backyard is accessed by a stair way with a gate on the bottom. The children use the bathroom in bedroom. The restroom that children use was observed to be safe and sanitary. LPA observed that there is a fireplace in the living room, and it is blocked off with a dresser. Per Licensee, areas off limits to children: Bedroom #1 and #2 and restroom #1, these areas are made inaccessible by a child safety gate and a locked door in bedroom #3.
The licensee does not provide lunch to children in care and lunch boxes were labeled. Licensee provides breakfast and snacks.
All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service via a landline and cellphone that is used in the facility. There is ventilation and heating (central air). Safe toys, play equipment and materials were observed.
