32 | LPA entered the bathroom and observed the toilet, hand washing sink, hand soap. LPA reminded licensee to personal items like keep shampoos, mouthwash, razors, toothpaste, and other hazardous items need to be made inaccessible to all children in care.
LPA inspected the kitchen and observed it to be maintained in safe, sanitary, and good repair condition. LPA observed that knives are stored in drawer with child safety lock making them inaccessible to children in care. Cleaning compounds are stored underneath kitchen sink with child proof lock. Licensee stated she provides breakfast, snacks, and lunch for children in care. LPA reminded licensee that if children bring their own food, it must be properly sealed and labeled with child’s name.
LPA inspected the outdoor side yard for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. LPA observed age-appropriate toys and play equipment that were in good repair. Back yard fence all around. Shaded area available to children. Per licensee and LPA observation there is no pools/bodies of water on premises.
Licensee stated there is no smoking in the home. Fire/Disaster drill was dated 8/17/26 not recorded Per licensee, there is firearms on the premises, LPA observed two safe’s ammunition stored separately from guns.
LPA review a sampling of children’s files at the time of the inspection and facility roster. LPA observed child. A roster and sleep logs for infants. LPA observe licensee’s Pediatric First Aid/ CPR (American Heart Association) dated on 03/18/25. Mandated reporter certificate dated 4/25/25. Licensee has one child with medication, LPA observed parent consent for administration of medications.

Licensee Clorice Godinez was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
