25 | Licensee’s primary language is Spanish. Assistant Stephen Troy/Spouse translated in English during inspection. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dayna Chambers conducted an unannounced required 1-year inspection to the above facility on November 27, 2023. LPA arrived at the facility at 11:15AM, identified self and met with Licensee, Miriam Troy, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. LPA provided Licensee with a copy of the LIC 126 Entrance Checklist to help facilitate the inspection. Also present during this inspection, was the assistants, Stephen Troy and Johanit Hahn. LPA observed 6 children upon arrival. Per Assistant, operation hours are Monday through Friday 6:00am to 6:00pm, closed Saturday and Sunday. There are 10 children that are currently enrolled. A current children’s roster was available for review. This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, living room, dining room, activity room, backyard (fenced), front yard, and detached carport. The children use the activity room, bathroom in hallway, bedroom #1 (across from bathroom), and backyard when it reopens. The off-limit areas to children and parents are: 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and carport. The licensee provides food for children in care.
Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. Per Licensee, they currently have three assistants. All adults present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing, or volunteering in the licensed childcare home. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home. All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service via cellphone and the cellphone stays at the facility during operation hours. There is ventilation and heating via central heat and air. Safe toys play equipment and materials were observed. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be inaccessible to children. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home and understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. The restroom that children use was observed to be safe and sanitary.
The valve on the required 2A10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was serviced on 12/05/2022, as indicated on service tag. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. Licensee states they are currently caring for infants. Licensee states that infants sleep in bedroom #1 and activity |
