32 | At 9:10 am Ashley Wiley, Director arrived and LPA Dowling informed Director the purpose of today's inspection is to deliver the findings of a complaint investigation. Site Supervisor, Andrea De Luna arrived shortly thereafter.
During the investigation LPA Dowling interviewed staff, Reporting Party, interested parties, obtained copy of the LIC 9040- Child Care Facility Roster, Center for Enriched Education Staff Cleaning Checklist Log for the week of 11/17/2025-11/21/2025.
Pertaining to the allegation that staff do not ensure linens for day-care children are clean and sanitized.
According to the reporting party there were two separate incidents in which a child’s bedding or blanket was found with mucus and blood on it. The Reporting Party noted that the blood may have come from a child’s nose or possibly an intimate area, though it was not specified whether the mucus and blood appeared fresh or old.
According to the staff interviewed, the bedding was wet and had a slight odor, it was unknown what the substance was, it is unknown how or when bedding was wet. Staff first noticed that the bedding was wet after nap time and put it in bag for parents, child was given another blanket that child had in cubby to use the next day. On another day it was discovered that the second blanket child had was wet again with an unknown substance.
Staff do not know what was on the bedding or how bedding was getting soiled. Per facility procedure, bedding is sent home on Fridays to be cleaned by child's representative and return to school on Mondays. Staff bagged up both blankets and they were given to parents to wash on Friday and return back to school on Monday.
As it is unknown how bedding was soiled, the allegation that "Staff do not ensure linens for day- care children are clean and sanitized" has been determined to be Unsubstantiated. That an allegation has been determined to be Unsubstantiated means that the allegation may have happened or is valid, but there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred.
A Notice of Site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Site Supervisor Andrea De Luna.
