32 | LPA inspected the indoor/children’s area for safety, comfort, cleanliness, ventilation and working phone (cell phone). LPA observed age-appropriate furniture, toys and books readily accessible and in good repair. Licensee tested smoke alarm located in den and carbon monoxide alarm located in living room. LPA heard the sound and both are operable. LPA observed A fire extinguisher, 2A10BC needle fully green. LPA did not observe service tag or receipt within a year. Fire extinguisher is located den.
LPA inspected the front and back yards for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. In the backyard, the LPA observed age-appropriate toys and play equipment that were in good repair. The backyard was fully enclosed by a concrete block wall and gate providing a secure outdoor play area. LPA observed shaded areas. The licensee stated that there are no in-ground pools, spas, or other bodies of water on the premises. During the inspection, the LPA did not observe any bodies of water on the property.
LPA inspected the kitchen and observed it to be maintained in safe, sanitary, and good repair condition. LPA observed, knives and sharp items are stored in kitchen cabinet inside a clear container box. All lower cabinets and drawers have magnet child proof locks. Licensee stated she provides breakfast, snack, and lunch for children in care. LPA reminded licensee if children bring their own food it must be properly sealed and label with child’s name.
LPA Avalos entered the restroom and observed the toilet, hand washing sink, hand soap. LPA reminded licensee to personal items like keep shampoos, mouthwash, razors, toothpaste, and other hazardous items need to be made inaccessible to all children in care.
Per Licensee, there is no children with allergies and or medication. Licensee stated there is no smoking in the home. Per recorded documentation, Fire/Disaster drill last completed 04/15/2026. Poisons, detergent, and cleaning compounds are made inaccessible to children stored in a kitchen cabinet with child proof locked and in shed. Per licensee, there are no weapons/firearms on the premises.
LPA review a sampling of children’s files at the time of the inspection. LPA verified licensee has current Pediatric First Aid/ CPR dated 9/13/25 and Mandated Reporter dated 4/22/24.
