32 | The Director denied all allegations, stating that staff receive training on working with children who display challenging behaviors. The Director reported that she has not observed or been informed of any staff hitting children or speaking to them inappropriately.
Staff interviews revealed that none of the staff reported witnessing any staff member hit a child. Staff stated they do not yell at children and that they communicate with children in ways the children can understand, using redirection when needed.
Children interviewed stated they enjoy coming to school, and their statements were inconsistent with the allegations.
Parents interviewed did not express any concerns related to the allegations.
LPA was only able to review camera footage for Classroom 2. The footage observed did not show any children being handled inappropriately, there was no audio available. Footage for Classroom 4 and the outdoor yard could not be retrieved. The Director stated that the individual who assists with their camera system attempted to retrieve the missing footage, but it was not available.
Based on the investigation conducted, there is insufficient evidence to support the above-mentioned allegations to be true. Therefore, although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are Unsubstantiated.
