25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Keyona Scott, conducted an unannounced 3 - Year Required Annual inspection to the Child Care Center on 02/11/2025 at 12:22 PM. LPA met with Director, Marcella McKnight at 12:34 PM. LPA was guided on a tour inside and outside of the facility. LPA observed proper teacher to infant/toddler ratios. At approximately 12:40 PM, LPA observed the infant and toddlers napping in their perspective napping area. LPA observed the following: eleven (11) napping or resting toddlers with four (4) teachers in the classroom and five (5) napping infants to two (2) teachers in the infant napping room. All infants and toddlers currently enrolled are over the age of one years old. LPA observed all infants and toddlers napping individually on napping cots. All Adults present, working and or volunteering at the facility have a criminal record clearance or exemption.
This is an infant center with a toddler component that serves infants ages twelve (12) months to two (2) years old and toddlers up to three (3) years old. The Child Development Center is located on the premises of Los Angeles Southwest College campus. There is also an active preschool (facility# 191870900) located on the premises and a school-age program (facility# 191805372) that is currently inactive. The infant center operation hours are Monday through Thursday 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM and Friday 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
PHYSICAL PLANT
All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. The infant program consist of one classroom and a napping room. LPA observed safety gate and cubbies with child's names at classroom entrance, outlet covers over the electrical outlets, table and chair sets, kitchen play sets, infant sofa, books, blocks, baby dolls, music instruments and other age-appropriate playthings in the infant/toddler room.
The facility was kept clean, neat and orderly. LPA observed three (3) toilets, three (3) sinks, and changing station in the infant restroom. LPA observed toilets and sinks to be safe, sanitary and functioning. LPA observed changing station and sink in the rear corner of the infant classroom. Changing stations are located within an arms reach of the sink. PAGE 1 |
