The facility did not have restrooms for infants. LPA observed trash bins with covers, diaper changing table, paper towel, liquid soap, disposable gloves, and step stool inside the infant classrooms. Water temperature is appropriate. There is an isolation area for children who become ill while in care and is in the main office. The facility always maintains a comfortable temperature. The facility have emergency kit bags in each of the infant classrooms and contain emergency supplies such as flashlight, bottled water, emergency radio, food, disposable cups, bloodborne pathogen infection control kit, and other emergency supplies. Daily sign in/out sheets are available and completed daily. Smoking is prohibited on the premises, daily inspection for illness, no prohibited child care items observed. Firearms/weapons are not allowed or stored on premises. There is no body of water on the premises.
Napping: LPA observed cribs and sleeping cots for napping. The facility provides the sheets for children in care. Parents can also bring their own sheets for the infants. Cots are used and maintained in good condition, wiped/cleaned/disinfected daily, or when soiled and there is no contact with other children bedding. LPA observed safe sleep log for napping children. Per teacher, Spout About application is used when monitoring infants regarding their diaper changing needs. Parents are also informed using the same application.
Outdoor: The facility has a playground area for the infant/toddlers which is separate from the preschool and school age children. Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, good repair, and age appropriateness. The area was observed to be free of debris, free from hazard, holes, broken items, debris. LPA observed small toy houses with slides, caterpillar tunnel play equipment, little toy cars, and other play equipment. No bodies of water were observed. According to the director, drinking water is provided during outdoor plays. Staff bring a water pitcher when they play outside.
Teacher child ratios were observed, and staff name recorded. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs of children are met and appropriate.
Health Related Services: According to Director Aimee Ward, they were not currently providing medications to children in care. LPA observed the facility has Infant and Toddlers Services Plan for each child. |
