Teacher child ratios were observed, and staff name recorded. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs of children are met and appropriate.
Health Related Services: According to Director Ward, they were not currently administering prescription medications for children in care. Based on records review, child #2, #3, and #5 have Infant and Toddlers care Plan and Individual Infant Sleeping Plan. Child #1 and child #4 are missing Infant and Toddlers care Plan and Individual Infant Sleeping Plan on their files. Per Director Ward, the parents were provided with the forms but forgot to bring the forms to the facility.
Children are inspected for illnesses (wellness policy) as they arrive. Children were physically observed once they arrive at the facility.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Food Service: There is a clean microwave, refrigerators, and freezers available in the facility. Bottles that contain milk are individually labeled with each child’s name and are stored in the refrigerator. Per Director Ward, the facility provides infant formula milk or parents can bring their own pre-made breast milk or infant formula.
Staff/Personnel Records: Director (qualified) qualifications were verified, Designation of Responsibility observed, immunization's, TB clearance for staff, health screening, criminal record statement, statement acknowledging suspected child abuse, Pediatric First Aid and CPR, and mandated reporter were observed in file. Based on records review, staff #4 is not associated to the infant licensee. During this visit, staff #4 was associated to the infant license.
Facility Records: Roster, fire/earthquake drills log were conducted on January 7, 2026. Per Director Ward, there is a designated Safety Captain in the Center. The Safety Captain organizes and conducts the fire/earthquake drills with children. There was an additional staff member who checks the playgrounds before |
