25 | On November 1, 2024, @ 12:15 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Devon Carus, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by licensee, Ziba Esteva. Currently, the above daycare has 10 children enrolled. LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. At the time of the visit, there were 9 children present. Current facility sketch reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that the kitchen is off limits and made inaccessible by use of safety gates. This one-story home was inspected as follows: living room, kitchen, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a back yard area. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area in the cabinet under the sink and in the back garage. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. There is a working fire extinguisher (3A-40BC), smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. LPA confirmed the available cell phone number is 3105486729. The indoor play area is in the living room area, and the back yard. The children reside here while in care. There are child gates, and locked doors with doorknob locks keeping the children in the day care area. There are also mats, and play yards/ cribs for sleeping in the day care area. LPA observed a pool in the back yard with proper fencing around it. LPA tested this iron fence surrounding the pool and confirmed that it is more than five feet tall with self latching gates, and will keep children in care safe. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid expires on 1/21/2025. A review of records indicates that all employees and/or volunteers have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis, measles, and Tuberculosis.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
