25 | mOn 08/04/2023 Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Doris Whitmore made an announced visit to CCRC Headstart- Roscoe for the purpose of conducting a Case Management - Licensee Initiated inspection to decrease the preschool capacity and add a toddler component. LPA did not observe care and supervision due to care not resuming until August 15, 2023.
According to the facility sketch there is the office, room that is to be used by CCP (Child Care Providers), Parent room Classroom1(Toddlers) and Classroom 2 (Preschool).
The following was observed:
Age-appropriate furniture, equipment, and toys, including cots.
There were no hazardous conditions in the outdoors area, cushioning was observed under all climbing apparatus, cushioning was in good condition. Complete First Aid Kits, carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors and Fire extinguishers were observed in both classrooms. Trash cans with lids were also observed.
Classrooms 1 & 2 were equipped with changing tables within arms reach of a sink. Classroom 1 measured 30.75 x 25.17=773.98 divided by 35 Total of 22. Classroom 2 measured 45.75 x 17.75 - 812 divided by 35 Total of 22 The total number of children for the indoor space is 45. Water dispensers with cups were observed.
LPA inspected the rest rooms and observed: 6 operable toilets and 4 sinks.
The outdoor space was observed. The toddler outdoor space is the atrium area between the classrooms. The are was inspected and observed to have age appropriate furniture and toys, free of hazards and debris. The area was shaded and water will be provided during outdoor time.
