mOn 08/04/2023 Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Doris Whitmore made an announced visit to CCRC Headstart- Roscoe for the purpose of conducting a Case Management - Licensee Initiated inspection to decrease the preschool capacity and add a toddler component. LPA did not observe care and supervision due to care not resuming until August 15, 2023.

According to the facility sketch there is the office, room that is to be used by CCP (Child Care Providers), Parent room Classroom1(Toddlers) and Classroom 2 (Preschool).

The following was observed:
Age-appropriate furniture, equipment, and toys, including cots.
There were no hazardous conditions in the outdoors area, cushioning was observed under all climbing apparatus, cushioning was in good condition. Complete First Aid Kits, carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors and Fire extinguishers were observed in both classrooms. Trash cans with lids were also observed.

Classrooms 1 & 2 were equipped with changing tables within arms reach of a sink. Classroom 1 measured 30.75 x 25.17=773.98 divided by 35 Total of 22. Classroom 2 measured 45.75 x 17.75 - 812 divided by 35 Total of 22 The total number of children for the indoor space is 45. Water dispensers with cups were observed.

LPA inspected the rest rooms and observed: 6 operable toilets and 4 sinks.

The outdoor space was observed. The toddler outdoor space is the atrium area between the classrooms. The are was inspected and observed to have age appropriate furniture and toys, free of hazards and debris. The area was shaded and water will be provided during outdoor time. The outdoor toddler area measured 45.42 x 43 divided by 75 for a total of 26 toddlers. The preschool outdoor area was observed and

The outdoor preschool are was observed and measured 126 x 43.25 divided by 75 for a total of 72 children.

For the preschool yard, there is a gate to the parking lot that will be locked at 8:00a.m. due to the area providing access to the preschool outdoor play area. The gate is reopened around 5:30 for dismissal.

The STD850 for this site has been received for this site. Prior to licensure the facility will provide a picture of the preschool playground free of debris and spider webs. This will also include a picture of the drain in the far corner of the play ground free of debris for proper drainage.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Celia Celia Cassio,Early Learning Supervisor.
