On 1/22/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amelia Morales conducted an unannounced- Required 1 Year inspection to the above facility. The purpose of the inspection was to ensure that health, safety, and personal rights as required by Title 22 Regulations governing California Family Child Care Homes will be met by the Licensee's. LPA met with Licensee's Bonnie Hasse and Maria Isabel Morales, who guided analyst on a tour of the home. An entrance checklist was provided. Licensees stated that there are currently 14 children enrolled. A census was taken there were 8 children during the time of the visit and 1 staff member. LPA verified that all adults present in the home have obtained criminal record clearances and are associated to the facility. The children’s roster was reviewed and is current. Per licensees, the facilities hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 6:00PM.

All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The home is a single dwelling with 2 bedrooms, office, dining room, living room, classroom, laundry room,
3 bathrooms, kitchen, breakfast room, front, patio and gated back yard and attached garage.

Per Licensee's, areas off limits to children include: the 2 bedrooms, as well as the 1 bathroom in between the 2 bedrooms, attached garage, and the office.

Per Licensee, areas that are accessible to children include: dining room, living room, classroom, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, breakfast room, laundry room, patio, front and gated back yard.

LPA observed the following: the home is clean and orderly. There were age-appropriate toys and play items. Licensees were informed that baby-walkers, bouncers, jumpers, and other prohibited items will not be used for children in care. All electrical outlets have safety covers. There is a fireplace located in the living room, that is screened making it inaccessible to the children in care.  Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible. The Licensee's stated that there are no poisons in the home. The Licensees understand that poison must be locked with a key or combination lock. Sharp objects, including knives are stored in well latched cabinets in the kitchen.

LPA did observe 2 pets (small maltipoo's) at the time of visit.  Per Licensee's the 2 pets are in the bedrooms, during the hours of operation of the day care. Per Licensee, isolation area for sick children is the sun room( breakfast room). The main entry for the children in care is the side gate used to enter the facility. The home is not equipped with surveillance cameras. LPA observed cotts at the facility for napping purposes. Per Licensee the fitted sheets get washed off weekly.

Per licensee's, the facility does provide morning and afternoon snacks for children in care. Per Licensee's children bring food from home and know it must be labeled and properly stored and refrigerated.

The Smoke/carbon monoxide detectors was observed in the breakfast room, tested and found to be operable. The required (2A10BC) fire extinguisher was observed in the laundry room and the classroom and both were (serviced last January 2024). The home also has a working telephone.

The Licensee's have current Pediatric First Aid and CPR. Proof of immunization against influenza, pertussis, and measles was readily available during today’s inspection. The Licensee's have also taken the Mandated Reporter Training.

Children utilize the backyard (play area),  LPA observed that the outdoor play area is fenced. Per Licensee's, when children are having outside time, they will ensure 100% supervision and never leave children unattended. There were no bodies of water present.

Licensee's were reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee [or facility representative] and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at
https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and­resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services - IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children's, personnel, and administrative records. Licensee's was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

During the exit interview, the Licensee's , confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
