25 | On 6/21/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Judy Laureano and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) conducted an unannounced case management inspection to address deficiencies that were discovered during the course of an investigation conducted by the Department.
LPA Laureano and LPM Escobedo inspected both the indoor and outdoor areas of the home. LPA observed 8 children present during the inspection with Licensee and 2 adults.
Based on interviews conducted by the Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Division Investigations Branch Investigator Seng and reports obtained from the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner, it was reported that a sleeping infant was physically checked on approximately 20-25 minutes after being put down for a nap on 5/3/2023.
Based on documents reviewed and interview with licensee verifying the children present and their dates of birth, licensee had a total of 6 infants present on 5/3/2023. Four additional children were present, 2 of which were over the age of 2 years and 2 children, whose files were not available to verify dates of birth. Licensee agrees to submit documents for all children present on 5/3/2023 by June 25, 2024.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter regulations, infants shall be physically checked on every 15 minutes while they are sleeping. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1 regulations, for a Large Family Child Care home, the maximum number of children for whom care may be provided at any one time when there is an assistant in the home is 12 children, no more than 4 of whom may be infants. There was 2 deficiencies cited during today’s visit in accordance to the California Code of Regulations Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1.
