observed cleaning products are stored in the upper cabinets of the laundry room (off limits). LPA observed knives are stored inside the middle shelf of the upper kitchen cabinets. Per licensee, household medications are stored in the upstairs cabinet in the licensee’s room and no medications are currently being provided to children in care. Licensee is enrolled in a food program, and she is providing meals and snacks to children in care.
The facility is a two-story house. All rooms upstairs are off limits. During this visit, LPA did not have a child safety baby gate installed on the stairs. Instead, Licensee has a child safety mesh gate installed between the bathroom and kitchen to make the stairs inaccessible to children in care. The home has central heating and air conditioning units.
Based on records review, the fire/earthquake drills were conducted on July 18, 2025, at 10:09 A.M.
LPA observed safe and age-appropriate toys, kitchen set toy, books, small table and chairs, arts and crafts, and other learning materials. Licensee provides three sleeping cots for children to use during nap time.
LPA observed the first aid kit boxes are stored in the hallway storage closet and in the laundry. Electrical outlets are covered with safety plugs.
Licensee is advised that baby bouncers, saucer chairs, or any recalled and or banned toys or sleep/ play equipment are prohibited on the premises. Licensee is advised to check for fixture, furniture and equipment that have been banned or recalled by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Bathroom: Toilet, sink and faucet were clean and operable. LPA did not observed razors and/or sharp objects, shampoos, mouthwash, medications, perfumes, air freshener, nail polish and nail remover that will pose a health and safety risk to children in care. LPA observed a step stool, paper towel, tissue paper, and liquid soap inside the bathroom.
Licensee stated that when a child shows signs of illness, the child is separated in the lounge room of the facility. Licensee stated that parents are called immediately. |
