25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Denise Gibbs conducted an announced case management inspection for the purpose of inspecting and measuring the facility due to a request for capacity increase. LPA met with Yanet Zepeda, Facility Representative. There were two children and four staff present at this time.
Facility is on the campus of Jones Primary Center and operates an AM and PM program Monday-Friday, 8AM to 11AM and 12PM to 3PM.
This facility is currently licensed for a capacity of 24 children in Room K-3. The Licensee is requesting to add one classroom, K-1 and increase capacity to 48 preschool children.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were toured both indoors and outdoors; measurements were taken as needed. Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Children have their own cubby or hook to store their belongings. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other items that are dangerous to children, were observed to be inaccessible. FR states that there are no poisons stored at the facility. LPA observed water readily available inside and outside via water operable fountains.
Outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Preschool children will share yard with Elementary school children. Outdoor waiver has been requested.
The restroom in Room K-1 was observed to be safe and sanitary. K-1 will share restroom with Room K-2 (Elementary class). Waiver has been requested. Preschool has six sinks and four toilets.
The applicant is seeking to provide care for 48 preschool children; Based on measurements, the facility has space for: 48 Preschool Children. A fire clearance has been granted as of 8/4/2022. Capacity increase will be granted upon Licensing Program Manager (LPM) approval.
