from the Head Start on how to administer medications to the child in care. In the absence of the licensee, Assistant #2 will be providing IMS. Licensee stated that she is not enrolled in a food program but is providing meals and snacks to children.
The facility is a one-story house. The fireplace is covered with a glass door and is also blocked by cubbies. The home has central heating and air conditioning units.
Based on records review, licensee conducted the fire/earthquake drills on April 17, 2025, at 11.04 A.M.
Safe and age-appropriate toys, kitchen set toy, cash register toy, highchair, cribs, play pen, diaper changing table, trash bin for solid waste, small wooden cabinet, wooden blocks, puzzles, dolls, books, small table and chairs, cubbies, manipulative, dramatic play toys, arts and crafts, and other learning materials were observed during the inspection. LPA also observed twelve sleeping mats for children to use during nap time.
Licensee has first aid kit boxes stored in the upper kitchen cabinets. LPA observed electrical outlets are covered with a child safety plastic plug to prevent access by children in care.
Currently, the licensee has thirteen children enrolled in the facility. LPA observed infant safe sleep logs.
Licensee is advised that baby bouncers, saucer chairs, or any recalled and or banned toys or sleep/ play equipment are prohibited on the premises. Licensee is advised to check for fixture, furniture and equipment that have been banned or recalled by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Bathroom: Toilet, sink and faucet were clean and operable. During the inspection, LPA observed step stools and potty seat cover inside the bathroom. LPA did not observe razors and/or sharp objects, shampoos, mouthwash, medications, perfumes, air freshener, nail polish and nail remover that will pose a health and safety risk to children in care.
Licensee stated that when a child shows signs of illness, the child is separated from other children in bedroom 1 of the facility. |
