Allegation: Lack of Supervision-Staff left daycare child unattended in a vehicle.

On 7/18/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Loyce Phillips, conducted an unannounced visit for the purpose of delivering the findings on the above allegation. LPA was greeted by Licensee, Patricia Castillo and toured the facility. LPA observed 7 children in care with 3 staff.

LPA conducted a full investigation, which included facility visits, obtaining pertinent documentation and interviews with children, staff and parents. The children in care disclosed when staff pick them up, staff is in the car with them. Children stated when staff get out and walk away from the car, children will get out as well. Staff that were interviewed stated children are never left alone in vehicles by themselves. Majority of the schools offer valet service during drop off and pick up. Staff disclosed C3 is the first pick-up that requires a guardian or staff to walk in the school for release. The other children are picked up after C3 and children will walk to the staff cars. If staff needs to exit the vehicle, children are required to get out. Parents that were interviewed disclosed they were satisfied with the transportation provided to their children and did not express any issues or concerns.

Based on the evidence obtained and interviews conducted the allegation of staff left day-care child unattended in a vehicle is deemed Unsubstantiated. A finding that the complaint is unsubstantiated means that although the allegations may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that the alleged violations did or did not occur.

No deficiencies are being cited accordance to Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations and/or Health & Safety Codes.

An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report, appeals rights and a notice of site visit were discussed and provided to Licensee, Patricia Castillo.
