25 | An announced pre-licensing visit was conducted to the facility. LPA met with applicant Rachelle Carson who guided Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Khadarian through the premises. The facility is located on church grounds in a building completely separate from the church. The facility has separate entrance from that of the church grounds. The applicant has also submitted applications for infant and school age licenses on the same address. School age program will be conducted on the second floor, whereas the preschool and infant programs will be conducted on the first floor.
Upon entry to the facility, it was observed that the facility was not completely set up for daycare at this time. There were some toys and equipment, nevertheless, it was not set up to accept children at this time. The following were observed at the facility:
1. LPA measured three classrooms that could potentially be used by the preschoolers:
Classroom 1 (across from the office at the entrance to the facility) measured 39 x 21.8 = 850.2 sq feet. This measurement did not include the risen stage section in the classroom as it will not be used by the daycare children. There is a fireplace in this classroom that is not completely covered to make it inaccessible. There are no toys or any equipment for children in this classroom and this measurement is wall to wall and it will change once applicant sets up the area properly for children's use. Applicant was made aware of this requirement.
Classroom 2 (the very far end classroom before reaching the back yard) was observed to be set up with children's equipement and the measurements reflect the total usable space. The room was measured to be 20 x 16.2 = 324 sq ft.
Classroom 3 (adjacent to the office at the entrance to the facility) also was set up with children's equipment and the measurements also reflect the total usable space. The room was measured to be
19.1 x 19.8 = 378.18 sq. ft.
2. The facility has 2 bathrooms on the first floor. One had 2 sinks and 2 toilets and the other had 3 sinks |
