25 | On Wednesday, July 16, 2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA)Braddock, conducted an unannounced annual Inspection. LPA met with Licensee, Toni Wingfield who guided LPA on a tour of the home. People who reside in the home are (Licensee, adult niece) who are live scanned and have TB skin test on file. The large family childcare home operates Sunday through Saturday for 23 hours a day. At the time of the visit there were 6 children present with 1 staff member.
This is a two-story family home. There is a living room, classroom/1st bedroom, family room, kitchen, five bedrooms in total, three bathrooms, laundry area, and attached garage but not accessible from inside the home with a safety gate and knob over the door handle. Licensee does provide napping, there are 15 cots, one mat, and one crib. The off-limits areas are the four bedrooms, two bathrooms, laundry area, and garage. License provides breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. LPA observed 1 dog. Per licensee the dog is kept upstairs and does interact with the children.
There is body of water on the premises. The is a spa in the backyard. Per licensee the children does not utilize the spa. The spa has two safety locks and a safety bar.
The home was inspected inside for comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation. Medications are kept up high in the kitchen cabinet. The kitchen knives are stored under the kitchen sink and made inaccessible by a safety latch. Cleaning compounds are stored in the laundry area inaccessible to children. The First Aid kit is located in the laundry room inaccessible to children. Per licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. LPA did not see any weapons or firearms in the home. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are in operable condition. The Fire Extinguisher is green, fully charged, and meets the standards of the State Fire Marshal. The licensee’s Pediatric CPR/First Aid is current . The licensee has the required immunizations against pertussis (TDAP) and measles (MMR) . The licensee completed the required Mandated Reporter training is current.
