32 | Technical Violation- 101216.1(b)(1) Units. LPA observed transcripts for staff present. No staff present during today's inspection have completed infant/toddler units. LPA informed Director prior to hire all staff must have completed infant/toddler units. Per Director, one teacher that is absent today has infant/toddler units and the teacher they are going to hire has infant/toddler units. LPA informed Director the current staff can not be left alone with infants, if they do not have those units.
Technical Violation- 101439(h)(5) (h)- Infant changing tables shall: (5) Not be located in the kitchen/food-preparation area. Director took the refrigerator out of the kitchen/food prep area in classroom #1 and left only the changing table. Per Director, they do not prepare infant bottles in the kitchen/food prep area anymore, they only change infant diapers. LPA informed Director they can not change any diapers or do toileting in the kitchen/food prep area.
While in the kitchen/food prep area LPA observed 2 sticky traps with insects inside of them. LPA was unable to determine what kind of insects were in the trap but there were multiple insects inside of the trap that looked like small roaches. Pictures were taken of traps and changing area. LPA did not observe any other sticky traps in the kitchen cabinets or under the sink.
Technical Assistance- 101238.2(b)(1) -Provide a shaded rest area for the children. LPA observed on the infant yard a wind sale being installed. Currently there is one small wind sale towards the back of the yard. Per, Director the other half of the wind sale had to be installed at a later date due to the weather, LPA observed hooks and attachments for the other wind sale in place in the yard.
The following deficiency listed on the attached deficiency page is being cited in accordance with California Code of Regulations Title 22. The Notice of Site Visit must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00.
Exit interview was conducted with Anna Baghramyan, Director, and a copy of the report was provided along with appeal rights.
