Allegation #2: Staff yell at daycare children.
Interviews indicated that children have positive relationships with staff. Parents reported no concerns regarding staff behavior. Assistants and the licensee stated they use clapping to gain the children’s attention rather than yelling and that they interact with the children in a respectful manner.
Allegation #3: Staff denied daycare children water.
Findings show there is a designated area within the facility where children can access water. Children confirmed they are provided water by staff. While some children bring their own water bottles, the facility also supplies water. Assistants stated that a water jug and cups are available for children to use throughout the day as needed. Children also have access to water from the facility’s refrigerator.
Allegation #4: Staff had inappropriate interactions with daycare children.
Interviews with children revealed no disclosures or concerns regarding staff. Parents also reported no concerns about the facility or staff interactions.
Based on the information obtained, there is not enough evidence to substantiate the above allegations, therefore, the allegations are rendered Unsubstantiated at this time.
A finding that the complaint is Unsubstantiated means that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged allegation occurred.
An exit interview was conducted, and a copy of this report was read and provided to the facility on this date, along with a copy of appeal rights and Notice of Site Visit.
