On 05/10/2022, LPA Clayton conducted an un-announced visit to deliver the findings of the above allegations, received in the El Segundo Regional Office on March 6, 2023. LPA was greeted by Licensee/Director Margaret Pettis. LPA observed 5 infants being cared by a teacher and an aide.

During the investigation LPA Clayton toured the facility for a Health and Safety inspection on 03/13/2023 and 05/10/2023. LPA Clayton conducted interviews with the Director, teachers, who verified that there was a problem with the front entry door and the Director notified the parents to bring the children through the back gate, until the door was repaired (the door was repaired the same day 03/06/2023). The Director reported that the phone is answered promptly, unless staff are busy with the children.

During each of the unannounced inspections, LPA Clayton observed the preschool to be a safe environment, and the children being supervised appropriately, and cared for by qualified staff. LPA Clayton also observed children being picked up and dropped off using the front entrance.

Based on the investigation which include interview with relevant parties and a review of records, there is insufficient evidence to support or disprove the above - mentioned allegations, therefore the allegations have been determined to be UNSUBSTANTIATED. A finding that the complaint is unsubstantiated means that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee/Director. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
