Allegation: Personal Rights - Staff caused injury to daycare child.

On 7/24/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Loyce Phillips, conducted an unannounced visit for the purpose of delivering the findings on the above allegation. LPA was greeted by Owner/Director, Margaret Pettis and toured the facility. LPA observed 3 infants with 1 infant staff.

LPA conducted a full investigation that included interviews with staff and parents. LPA also conducted staff/children’s observations. During interviews, parents express the quality-of-care with staff are great, communication is great, and the staff are efficient. Parents also express they do not have any concerns or issues with the facility. The staff that were interviewed stated children are not discipline at the facility. Staff have mentioned they have not witness other staff members injuring or hurting children. There were no disclosures made of staff causing injury to daycare children. During visits to the facility, LPA did not observe any personal rights violations.

Based on the evidence obtained and interviews conducted, the allegation mentioned above is deemed Unsubstantiated. A finding that the complaint is unsubstantiated means that although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that the alleged violations did or did not occur.

No deficiencies are being cited in accordance with Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations and/or Health & Safety Codes.

An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report, appeals rights and a notice of site visit were discussed and provided to Owner/Director Margaret Pettis.
