32 | All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. LPA Richmond inspected the classrooms and observed age-appropriate toys, books and furnishings. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards.
LPA Richmond conducted a Health and Safety inspection of the kitchen, and food preparation and storage areas are clean, free of litter/rubbish and free of rodents/vermin. Open food containers are labeled and dated appropriately. All food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is discarded immediately. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair.
LPA Richmond reviewed 10 children’s files and observed files to be in compliance with current contact information for authorized representatives and/or relatives who can assume responsibility for the child and authorization for medical treatment. LPA observed in 4 of 10 children’s files, missing physician’s report, including TB test. Type B citation cited. See LIC 809D. LPA observed in 7 of 10 children’s files, missing signed admission agreements. Type B citation cited. See LIC 809D.
LPA Richmond reviewed 4 personnel files and observed files to be in compliance with fingerprint clearance, early childhood education units, and at least one employee with current pediatric CPR/First Aid. LPA observed 2 of 4 employee files to be missing health screenings, including TB test. Type B citation cited. See LIC 809D. LPA observed 2 of 4 staff files to be missing immunizations for tdap and mmr. 4 of 4 staff files to be missing S04. Type B citation cited. See LIC 809D.
CCC HAS COMPLETED LEAD TESTING. LPA Richmond verified that the lead testing has been completed in accordance with Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. Director provided LPA with print out of lead testing results for file.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
This facility does not provide Incidental Medical Services –No IMS plan on file. Currently no children in need of IMS.
