in operable conditions (tested at 10:42 A.M.). The facility has a two fully charge fire extinguishers with 1-A:10-B:C classification (reading in green, checked at 10:44 A.M.). LPA also observed two old 3-A:40-B:C and 4-A:60-B:C fire extinguishers (reading not in green). Per licensee, she will have them refilled today. When the licensee arrived at the facility, Licensee also brought a new fire extinguisher with a 2-A:10-B:C classification (reading in green).
Licensee stated that she owns no firearms, and no one smokes in the facility. Licensee stated that cleaning products and knives are stored in the garage. LPA did not observe cleaning compounds, knives, and other sharp items inside the kitchen cabinets and drawers.
Per licensee, there are no household medications in the facility and no medications are currently being provided to current children in care. Licensee is not enrolled in a food program. Licensee stated that the parent of the child provides meals to the child.
The facility is a two-story house. All upstairs rooms and bathrooms are off-limits. There is a fireplace in the family room of the facility and is covered with mesh wire and a glass door. The home has central heating and air conditioning units.
Based on records review, the fire/earthquake drills were conducted last October 11, 2024, at 10:06 A.M.
LPA observed safe and age-appropriate toys, small slide, table, chairs, and other toys in the facility. LPA also observed a highchair. Per licensee she has 20 sleeping cots stored inside the tool shed.
Licensee has first aid kit box located by the entrance door. Licensee was advised to include an emergency guide, scissors, and tweezers inside the first aid kit. At 12:16 P.M., when the licensee arrived at the facility, licensee provided a first aid kit which includes emergency guide, scissors, and tweezers. LPA observed electrical outlets are covered with child safety covers.
Licensee is advised that baby bouncers, saucer chairs, or any recalled and or banned toys or sleep/ play equipment are prohibited on the premises. Licensee is advised to check for fixture, furniture and equipment that have been banned or recalled by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission. |
