32 | The bathrooms and toileting areas were inspected, there are sufficient toilets and sinks to accommodate the facility’s capacity. Toilets flush properly, toilet and sinks are reachable by the children in care. Each restroom has adequate toilet paper and paper towels available. Bathrooms were found to be clean. There is adequate lighting/ventilation in the bathroom areas.
The facility provides two snacks and lunch. Menus are posted. There is a full service kitchen on site. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, freezer, stove, sink and microwave oven. The kitchen has cold and hot running water. The kitchen is off limits to children in care. There is adequate heating, lighting and ventilation. Drinking water is readily available in each classroom. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors via pitchers. There are first aid supplies in each classroom and Director's office. Children are inspected for illnesses as they arrive. There is a separate area for isolation and care of ill children in Director's office. There is a cot available for each ill child. An isolated toilet and sink are available for ill children. Napping equipment and bedding was inspected for good condition, appropriate storage and cleanliness. LPA observed cots available for each child. Cots are being sanitized once a week. Bedding is stored separately. Napping children are properly supervised within ratios.
Outdoor equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. Required shade, drinking water and fencing were inspected. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. The facility has seven functioning fire extinguishers (serviced on 10/17/2024), smoke and carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. Facility was observed to be operating within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license. Staff trained in CPR and Pediatric/Infant First Aid. Medication and Discipline policies were discussed. LPA conducted a Children's Records Review for completeness and to ensure children have proper forms such as Identification and Emergency forms, Immunization records, Health History, Personal Rights, Parents Rights on file. The children's roster was available and current.
