32 | Per Licensee, the areas off limits to children and parents inside the home are living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom #1, bedroom #2, bathroom #1, bathroom #2, laundry room and detached garage. The 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and laundry room are made inaccessible with the use of locked doors. The kitchen is off limits and made inaccessible by use of child proof locks and locked doors. The backyard is divided into 2 areas, the back area is made inaccessible by the use of a child gate.
LPA did not observe any pools, spas, hot tubs, fish ponds, or similar bodies of water during the inspection.
Per Licensee, there are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. Per Licensee, there are no poisons kept in on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. There are no pets on the premises.
There is a working 2A 10BC fire extinguisher and the value indicates fully charged and was serviced on 08/03/2023, as indicated on service tag. The smoke detector (located in play room) and carbon monoxide detector (located in the kitchen) were tested and operable. There was adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. LPA did not observe a fireplace or open face heater.
There are currently no infants in care. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource.
LPA also informed Licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Licensee was reminded that children in care are always supervised all the time and made aware that children shall not be left in parked vehicles. Car seats are used for transportation purposes only and are not used for sleeping children.
