32 | LPA observed age-appropriate furniture, toys and books readily accessible and in good repair. Licensee tested smoke and carbon monoxide alarm both located in dining area. LPA heard the sound and it’s operable. LPA observed fireplace in living room with cover and locked, licensee stated they never utilize it. LPA observed a fire extinguisher, 2A10BC needle fully green. LPA did not observe service tag or purchase receipt within a year. The fire extinguisher is located in kitchen counter.
LPA inspected the backyard for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. LPA observed age-appropriate toys and play equipment that were in good repair. LPA observed play set with slide and soft padding cushion. The backyard was fully enclosed with cylinder block wall all around and child safety gates on both sides of the home, left side is inaccessible to children. Shaded areas are available for children's use. Licensee stated that there are no in-ground pools, spas, or other bodies of water on the property. LPA did not observe any bodies of water on the premises.
LPA inspected the kitchen and observed it to be maintained in safe, sanitary, and good repair condition. LPA observed that knives and sharp items are stored in top kitchen cabinets. Licensee stated she provides breakfast, snacks, and lunch for children in care. LPA reminded licensee if children bring their own food, it must be properly sealed and label with child’s name.
LPA entered the bathroom and observed the toilet, hand washing sink, hand soap. LPA reminded licensee to personal items like keep shampoos, mouthwash, razors, toothpaste, and other hazardous items need to be made inaccessible to all children in care.
Per Licensee, there is no children with allergies and or medication. Licensee stated there is no smoking in the home. Per recorded documentation, Fire/Disaster drill last completed 06/01/26. Poisons, detergent, and cleaning compounds are made inaccessible to children stored laundry area in top cabinet making them inaccessible to children in care. Per licensee, there are no weapons/firearms on the premises.
LPA reviewed a sample of children's files during the inspection. LPA observe pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate for Adult, Child, and Infant dated 05/04/25. LPA also reviewed the licensee's Mandated Reporter Training certificate, dated 03/01/25.
