25 | On August 19th, 2026, at 1:00pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Devon Carus, conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and was met by licensee, Kiyomi Ohno. The above daycare has 9 children enrolled. LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. At the time of the visit, there were 9 enrolled children present. Current facility sketch reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that the kitchen is off limits and made inaccessible via a children’s safety gates and locks. This one-story home was inspected as follows: back yard, two bedrooms, and one bathroom. All poisons and cleaning supplies are under the sink in the restroom area with a children’s safety lock and are inaccessible to children in care. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. The facility maintains first aid supplies that include band-aids, gauze, ice/ cold packs, thermometer, tweezers, and scissors. These are stored in locked cabinet under the bathroom sink are inaccessible to children in care. Medication is kept under the locked sink in the restroom and is out of reach of children in care. There is a working fire extinguisher (2A-10BC), smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. LPA confirmed the available cell phone number is (562) 499-9338 The day care play area is in the back yard, and two bedrooms of the home. The children reside here while in care. There are child safety gates keeping the children in the day care area. There are mats and cribs, for the children to sleep or rest on. The Daycare is open from 8AM-6PM Mon-Fri. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. LPA did not observe any pools or bodies of water on the premises. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid Training expires May 28th, 2028. A review of records indicates that all employees and/or volunteers have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis, measles, and Tuberculosis. The licensee prepares snacks, and lunches for children who are enrolled at the daycare. Additionally, the licensee prepares a menu of food to be served on a daily basis.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
