25 | On 03/14/2024 at 9:15am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Sarah Garcia conducted an unannounced Required Inspection at the above-mentioned facility. LPA was greeted by licensee, Maria Bances. During the initial inspection, LPA observed 1 child in care. Facility operates Monday through Saturday. Facility operates Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. and Saturday 7:30am-5:00pm. Currently licensee is available to care for children 0 to 12 years old. Facility is Large Family Child Care Home with a max capacity of 14. Licensee provides transportation to children. LPA obtained a copy of licensee's drivers license.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. The home is a two story home with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, living room/dining room, family room, kitchen area, laundry room, and outdoor area. The first floor had 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The second floor has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Licensee confirmed the following areas are designated for day care only: Living room/dining room, 1 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, family room, and outdoor area. LPA inspected the living room/dining room and observed the space to be clean and orderly. LPA observed cribs and mats to utilize for sleeping children. LPA observed a screened wall heater. LPA inspected the bedroom #1 and observed age-appropriate toys, materials, and children's books. LPA inspected the bathroom #1 and observed a safety latch under the sink to ensure toxins or cleaning compounds are inaccessible to the children in care. LPA observed a safety door knob on the laundry room. LPA observed locked doors on bedroom #2 and #3. LPA inspected the kitchen and observed the knives and sharp objects to be out of reach to the children. LPA observed a safety latch under the kitchen sink cabinet to ensure all poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which can pose a risk to children in care made inaccessible. Past the hallway, LPA observed a safety gate at the entrance of the stairs leading to the second floor. LPA inspected the family room and observed the space to be clean and orderly. LPA inspected the bathroom #2 and observed a half bathroom. LPA did not observe cleaning compounds, toxins, or poisons accessible to children in care.
