observed cleaning products stored in upper cabinets of the laundry area. Knives are stored inside the kitchen drawers with child safety lock. Per licensee, household medications are stored inside the licensee’s room Licensee is a member of a food program and she provides meals and snacks to children in care.
The facility is a two-story house. All upstairs rooms are off-limits and there is a child safety metal gate that blocked the entrance upstairs. There is a fireplace in the family room, and it is blocked by furniture (cubby). LPA advised the licensee to make the fireplace inaccessible to children in care. The home has central heating and air conditioning units.
Based on records review, the fire/earthquake drills were conducted last July 18, 2025.
LPA observed safe and age-appropriate toys, small tables and chairs, kitchen set toy, toy cars, highchairs, books, television, and other toys in the family room of the facility. LPA observed sleeping cots, sleeping mats, and foldable play pen/cribs in the facility.
Licensee has first aid kit stored in the upper shelf of the closet next to the family room. However, the first aid kit has missing tweezers. Licensee was advised to include tweezers in the first aid kit. LPA observed emergency supplies inside the closet. LPA also observed a thermometer. Electrical outlets are covered with safety plugs.
The licensee was advised that baby bouncers, saucer chairs, or any recalled and or banned toys or sleep/ play equipment are prohibited on the premises. Licensee is advised to check for fixture, furniture and equipment that have been banned or recalled by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Bathroom: Toilet, sink and faucet were clean and operable. LPA did not observe razors and/or sharp objects, shampoos, mouthwash, medications, perfumes, air freshener, nail polish and nail remover that will pose a health and safety risk to children in care. LPA observed step stools, trash bin, and paper towel in the bathroom.
Licensee stated that when a child shows signs of illness, the child is separated from other children in the |
