32 | a rough manner, staff yelling at day-care children and staff hitting children. Per the Administrator, hitting any child in care is not allowed and the center does not tolerate any staff or volunteers to handle children in a rough manner, or yell at them. Per Administrator if a staff is having a hard time with a child the children are allowed to come in the Administrators office to calm their body down. LPA observed sensory toys, books and a chair for the children to sit in until they are ready to return to class.
During interviews with staff, staff denied the allegations of handling a day-care child in a rough manner, yelling and hitting day-care children. Staff also disclosed that staff have not seen other staff handle a day-care child in a rough manner, yell at day-care or hit a child in care.
Statements obtained from children were inconsistent and did not corroborate with the above mentioned allegations.
Parents interviewed did not present concerns related to the above mentioned allegations and were pleased with the services and care being provided to their children.
Based on the investigation conducted, there is insufficient evidence to support the above-mentioned allegations to be true. Therefore, although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are Unsubstantiated.
