On 6/7/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Laureano conducted a complaint inspection to deliver the findings regarding the above-mentioned allegation. LPA met with Director Crystal Thompson. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection. There were 7 children and 1 staff member and director provding care and supervision.

On 3/22/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Laureano arrived at Little Scholars Academy at 4168 W. Slauson Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90043 for the purpose of investigating the above-mentioned allegation. Upon arrival, LPA met with Crystal Thompson and discussed the purpose of the visit. LPA toured the facility and observed 4 children in care and 1 staff providing care and supervision with Director C. Thompson.

LPA requested and reviewed the following documents: children’s roster (LIC9040), admission agreement and/or parent handbook and “ouchie report and/or incident reports”. LPA reviewed “ouchie report and/or incident reports via online application: Learning Genie.

On 3/22/2023 LPA initiated interviews with staff, director, children and parents. On 6/7/2023 LPA concluded interviews of all relevant parties. Based on interviews (director, staff, children and RP,P2, P4 and P5) and documents reviewed, no information was disclosed that personal rights of children were not being met.
Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove or disapprove the allegation, therefore the allegation is found to be unsubstantiated.

Exit interview was conducted and a copy of the report was provided.
