25 | On 07/17/2024 at 9:20 AM an unannounced Annual/Required Inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Katrina Chicote and Peter Bishop. LPAs announced purpose of visit and met with Facility Representative (FR), Arleesha Herd, Assistant Director. Facility is currently licensed for a capacity of 39 and per Facility Roster have 39 enrolled. The program currently operates Monday thru Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. LPAs were taken on a guided tour of the facility of both indoors and outdoors. Required postings were observed. LIC 125 was provided. Facility also has a preschool program attached (#197494018). LPAs observed each program to have separate entrances/exits at time of inspection.
The facility is made up of three classrooms: Infant Room, Toddler A, and Toddler B. At the initial start of the site visit, LPAs observed Infant Room to have seven infants with three teachers, Toddler A Room, who were playing outside, to have nine infants with two staff, Toddler B Room to have ten infants, three of which were outside, to have three teachers. Total census of 26 infants and eight teachers at time of inspection.
Beginning at 9:25 AM, furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair in each classroom. LPAs observed surface of classrooms to be safe and clean, and age appropriate tables and chairs available for children with rounded edges that have been maintained at time of inspection. LPAs observed a variety of age appropriate washable toys of sufficient quantity that are maintained free of loose, sharp, and pointed parts that encourage auditory, visual, and tactile stimulation and manipulative skills. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. There were cubbies observed as storage for children's belongings. LPAs observed Infant Room to have separate sleeping area that have cribs that comply with Title 22 Safe Sleep requirements. LPAs observed Infant Room sleeping area to have a door with glass window and half partition making Infant Room sleeping area to be fully visible. LPAs observed Toddler size blue cots as sleep equipment for Toddler A and B. Per FR, linens for cribs are provided by the facility and washed weekly, while sheets/blankets for cots are provided by families and taken home weekly for washing. LPAs observed sheets/blankets stored in individual cubbies at time of inspection. Availability of drinking water was reviewed. FR states that infants are provided drinking water in their own personal water
