32 | yard and no hazardous plants were observed. All trees are fenced or have a barrier around them for the children's safety. The licensee has gone through the yard and meticulously made safety upgrades throughout by adding pool noodles to poles and fencing. The space is large and hazard free with many activities for the children to chose from. There are no bodies of water.
There were no fixtures, furniture, and equipment that have been banned or recalled by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission. Licensee provides filtered water for each child. Licensee provides cups which are labeled with each child's name. Licensee provides all daily meals for children as well. First aid kit and fire extinguisher are located in the kitchen area. LPA observed the home was clean and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Licensee provide sheets for napping and washes them over the weekend.
There is a dual smoke and carbon monoxide detector connected to the fire alarm system throughout the home which are in operable condition. Licensee's fire extinguisher, size 2A10BC was purchased on 7/3/2026 per receipt provided. LPA advised that the fire extinguisher must be serviced annually or after it has been used. LPA observed there were no defects or conditions which might endanger the children. All electrical outlets in the home were observed to have outlet covers. LPA observed there were no poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and other items which could pose a danger accessible to children. Per Licensee, there are no pets, weapons or firearms of any kind in the facility currently. Licensee states that when a child shows signs of illness, they are separated from other children in the living room off the dining room until parents pick them up. Children's files and staff files were reviewed and complete with the exception of one child's file which contained incomplete forms. Technical Violation issued for this.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
