32 | LPA observed age-appropriate toys and materials for children to use as well as age-appropriate napping equipment. The home has heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
The home has a fully charged 2:A10B:C Fire extinguisher that was inspected March 2026, a working carbon monoxide detector and a working smoke detector in the hallway. LPA Clayton reviewed a disaster drill log indicating the drill are conducted according to Title 22 Regulations.
The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (562) 528-6517. The licensee was informed that any changes to ages, hours and days of operation shall be submitted to the department via signed LIC 279, for approval prior to initiation of changes.
Per the licensee, there are no firearms in the home. Any detergents, cleaning compounds, medication, poisons, and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children. There are no pools, ponds, jacuzzi, spa or other bodies of water on the property.
LPA Clayton reviewed 6 children’s files and observed the files to be in compliance with current immunization records, contact information of parents and authorized representatives, authorization for medical treatment, and signed Parent’s Rights receipts. LPA Clayton advised Licensee to add Blue immunization cards for all children enrolled, and proof of enrollment in school to the files of her school age students.
A review of facility records indicates that the Licensees Mandated Reporter training expires March 2027, and her Adult/Pediatric CPR/First Aid expires June 2027. The assistants Mandated Reporter training and CPR/First Aid certificates expire in 2027.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of 100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
