Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lilia Hernandez conducted an unannounced inspection to the above facility on 02/16/2024. LPA arrived at the facility at 8:45AM, identified self and met with Sharon Collins, Director, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. There were 25 children and 5 staff upon arrival.

The purpose for the inspection is to follow up on a recent alteration to the facility's outdoor play yard. On 12/06/2023, LPA was notified that alterations will be made to the preschool play yard. The play yard will undergo a tree removal, tree trimming and installation of a climbing structure for preschool children.

The facility reported to the department on 01/19/2024 that alterations were complete and submitted to the Department an updated LIC999 facility sketch to include the addition of the climbing structure. The facility also submitted a photo of the structure, description with details of the climbing structure and invoice from the company who completed the installation.

Outdoor playground equipment is in a safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Per Director, all areas around and under high climbing equipment and slides are cushioned with padding under the artificial grass that will absorb falls. There is adequate shade in the play yard. LPA observed a blue awning that provides shade. LPA advised that no children shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time.

There were no deficiencies cited during today’s inspection.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Sharon Collins, Director.
