25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Keyona Scott, conducted an unannounced annual required inspection to the Child Care Center on 01/29/2025. LPA met with Licensee, Mone't Morris at 9:15 AM and was guided on a tour inside and outside of the facility. LPA observed proper teacher to children ratios. At approximately 9:33 AM, LPA observed the preschoolers in their perspective classrooms. LPA observed the following: twelve (12) children to one (1) teacher in the Pre-K, 4 year old classroom; nine (9) children to one (1) teacher and one (1) teacher's assistant in the 2 to 3 year old classroom; eight (8) children to one teacher in the 2 year old classroom; eleven (11) children to one (1) teacher in the 5 to 6 year old classroom. All Adults present, working and or volunteering at the Center have a criminal record clearance or exemption. This is a preschool program that serves children ages two (2) years old until entry into first grade. The preschool center operation hours are Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM
PHYSICAL PLANT
All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. The preschool program consists of four classrooms in which the 5 to 6 year old classroom is located through the rear outdoor play area entrance. LPA observed the following in each of the four classrooms: cubbies with each child's name, outlet covers over the electrical outlets that were not in use, table and chair sets, books, blocks, board games and other age-appropriate playthings. LPA also observed napping cots stored in each classroom.
The facility was kept clean, neat and orderly. LPA observed two restrooms utilized by the children in care. LPA observed two (2) toilets and two (2) sinks in the restroom located at the entrance of the building utilized by the two (2) to four (4) year old children in care. LPA observed one (1) toilet and one (1) sink in the restroom located in the classroom utilized by the 5 and 6 year old children in care. LPA observed toilets and sinks to be safe, sanitary and functioning. All poisons and hazardous items are stored and inaccessible to children in care. All floors are clean and safe. LPA observed the classrooms and all kitchen areas and/or food preparation areas clean and free of litter, rubbish, rodents and/or any other vermin, flies, gnats and other insects. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. PAGE 1 |
