32 | Interviews were conducted with parents: P1, P2, P3, P4 & P5. The parents interviewed reported that their children sleep normally at home, do not resist naps, and have not returned home with unexplained marks, redness, or adhesive residue. Parents reported no concerns related to the facility’s nap practices and confirmed no sleep aids, patches, or topical products were used at home that could be transferred to the child. Parents consistently described positive communication from staff and described overall satisfaction with care provided.
Interviews with staff: S1, S2, S3, S4, S5 & S6 revealed that nap time occurs daily after lunch. Staff reported using routine calming methods such as books, quiet supervision, low lighting, and soothing music. Staff consistently denied using any sleep aids, medications, adhesives, patches, or topical products on children. Stickers are used only on classroom work or occasionally on hands after circle time, not during nap time. Staff also reported that some children do not sleep and are allowed to rest quietly, color, or read. Several staff noted that marks seen on children are typical minor impressions from nap mats which resolve quickly.
Six children were interviewed, C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, & C6). All children described routine nap activities, reported no products placed on their body by staff, and stated that stickers are placed on paper or hands. C5 stated liking classroom stickers “on the face,” but this statement was self initiated by the child and not connected to nap time. No child disclosed that staff applied any adhesive product during rest periods.
