25 | On 5/12/2022 Licensing Program Analysts (LPA), Loyce Phillips conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Nicole Torrence. LPA observed 10 children in care today and 1 assistant. All adults have a criminal record clearance. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:30am to 5:30pm.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. This is a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with living room, kitchen, dinning area, laundry area and detached garage.
The areas that are accessible to children: Living room, dining area, bedroom #4, bathroom #2 (located in bedroom #4) and the backyard is used for outdoor activities.
The areas that are off limits to children: Bedrooms #1, #2, #3, bathroom #1, kitchen, detached garage, right and left sides of the home. Areas made inaccessible by safety gates.
No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children.
There is a full charged fire extinguisher located in the main day care room. The facility has a working smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector, inside the home. The facility has adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs in the home. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (310)910-3318.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. Car seats are used for transportation purposes only and are not used for sleeping children. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.
Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training expired on 3/10/2023. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid expires on 11/29/2022. A review of records indicates that Licensee have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis and measles.
