The extra activity space/ garage area was observed. LPA observed a studio like area with a kitchen, full bathroom and living room area. Licensee confirmed this area has been designated for the use of the day care.
Entering the space, LPA observed the parent board with all necessary posting. The wall on next to the door LPA observed the Fire alarm pull station. The space was observed to have children size tables and chairs, plastic play kitchen, an easel and age appropriate toys.
The kitchen area was observed, all cabinets were observed to have safety latch. Refrigerator and stove were observed to have children’s safety latches making them inaccessible to the children in care. Knifes and sharp objects observed to be made inaccessible to the children in care.
The bathroom in the space was observed. A toilet, sink and shower were observed. The cabinet under the sink was observed to have a safety latch. LPA discussed COVID-19 recommendation such as using paper towels and displaying a handwashing sign for children to view.
Outside the front yard, LPA observed the main entrance to the home. Entering the home, LPA observed the living room and dining room area. A children’s rug was observed in the space and licensee confirmed children nap in the area. All electrical outlets were observed to be covered. The living/dinning room area was observed to have two adult size coaches, a dining room set and children size tables and chairs. A mounted television set was observed. LPA observed a second door by the dining room table that led to the side of the home. Licensee confirmed the door will always remain locked during ours of operations.
The kitchen was observed and designated as OFF LIMITS to the children in care. Kitchen cabinets were observed and inspected. The stove, sink and counter space area were observed and inspected. Knifes and sharp objects observed to be made inaccessible to the children in care. Licensee confirmed that facility will be providing meals and snacks. Licensee participates in the local food program. LPA discuss food preparation, storage and ensuring a log and information regarding dietary restrictions and allergies are kept up to date.
Outside the kitchen, LPA observed the second bathroom that is designated OFF LIMITS to the children in care. A safety latch was observed at the top of the door. Bedroom 1 and bedroom 2 that was observed to have a full bathroom and walk in closet, are designated as OFF LIMITS. LPA observed a safety latch on both doors and licensee confirmed that the doors will remain closed during the hours of operations.
