Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Seung Lee conducted an unannounced required inspection. Upon arrival LPA Lee met with assistant Jessica Choi. The Licensee Da Cho, arrived around after an hour LPA Lee arrived at the facility. Facility staff stated the facility provides care for children ages 0 to 5 years old. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8AM to 6PM.

Adults living home are the Licensee and her sister. During the inspection all areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. This large family child care home is located in a two story 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom home. Adults residing in the home is just the Licensee. The home was inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. There are age appropriate toys and napping equipment on the premises. Per applicant there is a no fire arm in the home. The applicant does not have any pets.

The areas of the day care are the living room area, 1 bathroom on first floor, 2 bedrooms on the first floor, and backyard. Areas off limits to children will be kitchen, and all of the second floor.

Disaster drill with children was last conducted 08/01/2024. Facility staff's CPR and first aide was valid until 12/2024. Fire extinguisher has been serviced in the last year, card on extinguisher notes 05/12/2024. There is an operational smoke and carbon monoxide detector in the living room area. The home has electrical outlet covers throughout and maintains a First Aid Kit. There are adequate age appropriate toys, books, and games. There are no firearms present on the premises as stated by licensee. There are no pools or spas, or other bodies of water. Currently there are no pets.

Children and staff files were reviewed during the inspection by LPA Lee.

The following were discussed: Individuals who are 18 years of age or older living in the home must be finger print cleared prior to being in the presence of the children in care. Individuals within one month of their 18th birthday must be fingerprinted immediately. No smoking, No infant walkers, No baby bouncers, No Johnny jumpers, No exersaucers and any other item that falls into that category. LPA discussed disaster drills, posting requirements, children records requirements, mandated child abuse and injury/death reporting.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA advised the Licensee to access forms and regulations on line at: www.ccld.ca.gov.

No Deficiencies were cited during this inspection.

The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213)must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00.

Exit interview was conducted with Licensee Da Cho. Appeal rights discussed and explained.
